RESUMO

As required by Rule 54 of the International Code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes, the authors propose the replacement specific epithet 'allocomposti' for the illegitimate prokaryotic name Sphingobacterium composti Yoo et al. 2007, the replacement subspecific epithet 'bovistauri' for Mycobacterium chelonae subsp. bovis Kim et al. 2017 and the replacement subspecific epithet 'allosunkii' for Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. sunkii Kudo et al. 2012. Meanwhile, new combinations Christiangramia oceanisediminis and Christiangramia crocea are also proposed as replacements for the illegitimate prokaryotic names Gramella oceanisediminis Yang et al. 2023 and Gramella crocea Zhang et al. 2023, respectively.

RESUMO

The misclassification of the species Pasteurella caecimuris Lagkouvardos et al. 2016 along with the heterotypic synonymy between P. caecimuris and Rodentibacter heylii Adhikary et al. 2017 has long been recognized. However, no formal assignment of P. caecimuris to its correct taxonomic position has been made accordingly and therefore the nomenclatural consequences have not been implemented. In the present study, the author first re-evaluates the taxonomic relationships of P. caecimuris using genome-based approaches, confirming the need of reclassification to the genus Rodentibacter and presenting evidence of the synonymy between R. heylii and P. caecimuris. Next, the author proposes a new name Rodentibacter caecimuris comb. nov. and, based on the priority of their specific epithets, treats Rodentibacter heylii as a later heterotypic synonym of Rodentibacter caecimuris.

RESUMO

The prokaryotic generic name Pleomorpha Montero-Calasanz et al. 2023 should be considered illegitimate for being a later homonym of the insect generic name Pleomorpha Saunders 1847, which contravenes Principle 2 and Rule 51b(5) of the 2022 Prokaryotic Code. The name Pleomorpha daqingensis Montero-Calasanz et al. 2023 is therefore illegitimate, and a proposal of a replacement name must be made. The author herein proposes to replace it with the oldest legitimate name Geodermatophilus daqingensis Wang et al. 2017 as requested by Rule 54 and then to attribute this species to the new combination Petropleomorpha daqingensis (Wang et al. 2017) Li 2023 comb. nov.

RESUMO

Rowleyella Lewis, 1971, established for a genus of fleas, was found to be a junior homonym of the brachiopod genus Rowleyella Weller, 1911 and is therefore replaced by Waynella nom. nov., a substitute that preserves the meaning of the original name. The four previously included nominal species, viz., Rowleyella arborea Lewis, 1971 (type-species), R. gongshanensis Gong and Duan, 1989, R. nujiangensis Lin and Xie, 1990 and R. fugongensis Gong and Li, 2020, are accordingly now to be called Waynella arborea (Lewis, 1971) n. comb., W. gongshanensis (Gong and Duan, 1989) n. comb., W. nujiangensis (Lin and Xie, 1990) n. comb. and W. fugongensis (Gong and Li, 2020) n. comb., respectively.
